Platform Fees

PlateSend believes in transparent, fair pricing for both cooks and customers. Below is the full fee structure in effect at launch.

Customer service fee: 5% of the order subtotal, added to your total at checkout.

Cook commission: 10% of the order subtotal, deducted from the cook's payout. 0% during the beta launch period as part of our founding cook program.

Tips: 100% of any tip you add at checkout goes directly to the cook. Tips are not subject to the platform commission.

Payment processing: Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. PlateSend absorbs this cost — it is not deducted from cook payouts.

Cook payouts: Processed via Stripe Connect Express, typically arriving in the cook's bank account within 2 business days of order delivery.

If we ever change these fees, we'll update this page and notify active cooks at least 7 days before the change takes effect.

For full refund and cancellation rules, see our Refunds & Customer Issues Policy.

Liability Insurance

Disclosure: PlateSend does not currently carry liability insurance covering incidents arising from the sale or consumption of food listed on this platform.

Each MEHKO (home cook) on PlateSend operates as an independent, permitted food operation. Consumers should be aware that food safety and liability are the responsibility of the individual permitted cook.

We encourage all home cooks on our platform to consider obtaining their own liability insurance. This section will be updated if PlateSend's insurance status changes.
